I want to give it a try and see if I like working in the skilled trades before I really commit to a career as a tradesperson. I’d like a skilled trade placement in co-op where I learn from a qualified tradesperson. This is a great place to start your journey.
I’m not sure what trade I want to work in but I think it’s one in the construction industry. I’d really like to try them all out for a couple of weeks at a time on a construction site and see which one is really for me.
I want to start working in construction right away in the building restoration field. I’m almost ready to graduate and I’d like to spend my last semester in high school learning on the job, making money, and getting co-op credits.
I want to go to a Technical High School and get more credits towards graduation. I’d be learning about the trade that I’m really interested in from a licensed tradesperson as well as some time spent learning on the job at a co-op placement.
I’m not sure what trade I want to work in but I think it’s one in the transportation industry. I’d really like to try them all out for a couple of weeks at a time and see which one is really for me.
I want to start my apprenticeship while I’m still in high school. I’ll learn on the job from a licensed tradesperson. I’d also like to go to College or a Union training centre to get my Level 1 training in the trade that I am sure I want to pursue.
I would still like to be in a school environment but I’d also like to spend time with a tradesperson fixing schools and getting a feel for what working in the trades is like.
Still unsure?
Maybe this will help.
